Handy als GeschenkWhen you are looking for the all-around best gift this holiday season, keep in mind that the absolute best gifts are the ones that keep on giving, even long after they have been received.

An Android is such a gift, as it is rapidly becoming the greatest multi-tool of our current time; a sort of swiss-army knife for the digital generation. Before you hear about some the great things of the great things that an Android phone can do, remember this: there are new apps that change the way we interact with the world being made every single day. So an Android is always evolving.

There’s a variety of reasons why an android is the perfect gift this holiday season. Here are a few of them…

Works great with your vehicle

There are many awesome apps that change the relationship between phones and vehicles on an Android. For example, there is a terrific app called Viper Smartstart, which allows you to lock/unlock your doors, pop your trunk, and specifically start your car.

This works remotely, so that you could be in another country and still start your car, thus eliminating the need for keys. However, this only scrapes the surface, as there are more features being added to this app all the time.

Another terrific car-based app is Android Auto, which essentially turns existing cars into smart cars. The app uses a small heads up display unit that you wear to communicate with you, so it is entirely hands off, allowing you to keep your eyes on the road and control your car.

The app lets you handle phone calls, music, GPS, and messaging, among other things, through the power of voice command. This amazing technology can work with older vehicles, unlike Apple CarPlay.

So long as you have an Android and a Pioneer head unit, you can adapt this app to old car entertainment systems. There may not always be a need for that, though, as all car manufacturers will soon start creating cars that come standard with Android Auto. Keep track of your health

An Android can be an incredible tool for monitoring your exercise, diet, and other health needs. For example, there’s an app called Instant Heart Rate that uses the same color-tracking technology on your fingers that other oximeters use to measure your heart rate.

This app is surprisingly incredibly accurate. It is amazing that a phone can be used to replace medical technology for certain situations. While this isn’t to say your phone will replace your doctor, it is a cool tool to have.

There’s also exercise apps such as Accelerometer, which measures your steps on a walk or a run. This helps you keep track of exercise and how it is affecting your weight loss or endurance. There’s even a variety of calorie counting apps that can help you manage your diet in fun ways!

Perfect programming phone

It is far easier to program apps on an Android, as the software is more intuitive than iOS. The programming capabilities on the phone itself are incredibly diverse.

For example, you can connect to an external USB drive with an adapter and app, which lets you use the USB drive as another storage device that you can run larger apps off of. Using this ability, you can even install Linux to your Android, which opens up a ton of open source programming power!

This let’s you program on the move, or even host your own web server. This ability is awesome and makes it a powerful tool for tech lovers. You can actually even connect with your home computer remotely, if you have Windows, by using your Android with the Teamviewer app.

This lets you do things like move files from your phone to your computer, or the other way around, even when you are miles away. You can also help anybody with computer troubles fix their problem by taking control from your Android.

Manage your finances

There are an assortment of different uses for Android in the world of finance. You can run all of your banking from your phone, nowadays. There are even banks that exist solely on the internet. Using these apps, you can transfer and collect money with friends, all from the convenience of your phone.

You could even run your business’ payment system on your phone with Square.

On top of that, many stores are beginning to create apps that let you pay for services on your phone. This practice was started by Starbucks. There’s even apps that can give you educated information on investing and managing stock, or help you manage your taxes.

You can even replace your credit card by using the new phone tap payment system, which can be found at all sorts of businesses nowadays. This is quickly replacing the card system, as it is much more convenient. Essentially, the Android lets you put a little accountant in your pocket that helps with a variety of different financial tasks.
