What’s the first thing you see when you wake up every morning?

Or what’s the first thing you get a view of when you step into your workplace?

And what’s the first thing your guests will notice when they step into your living room or office?

In most cases, the answer to all of these questions is going to be “the wall”. Rooms are made of walls, floor, and ceiling, and while you cannot neglect any of these while planning the interior, walls are probably the most important element because we are looking at walls, and not floor or ceiling most of the time. At the same time, decorating the walls can be quite expensive since we are dealing with an area which is much bigger than the floor or ceiling of a room.

Following are some economical, yet very effective ways of decorating your walls.

Picture Framing:

Picture framing can serve two different purposes. The framed pictures will serve as a wall decoration, but more importantly, it will also add a homey feeling to your living rooms. The best part is, you don’t need to fill your walls with various pictures (which is the case in wallpaper or paint), because just a couple of pictures will do the job. There’s a plethora of picture framing materials, mat boards, special effects, and glass types to choose from, and a professional picture framing service will help you get the perfect frame, according to the interior of your room.

Wall Paint:

Wall paint has been the most commonly used method for improving the look and feel of your rooms, and it is one of the most economical methods as well. Even if you are looking for additional decoration, the wall paint must be there as the foundation. But even if you don’t want to do anything else, you can try some of those textures or graffiti to come up with a stellar interior. However, if you are more concerned about the budget, you can simply choose a new color combination and it will be enough to freshen up your rooms. For further cost saving, you can try doing it yourself.

Wall Paper:

Dealing with the damps or condensation has always been a pain, and normally the wall paints or simple decorations will fail to hide those spots for long. And while wall paper wouldn’t really solve or hide the problem forever, it is still quite effective in giving your old walls a very modern and up-to-date look. Wall papers come in many different designs and materials, and you will find a huge difference in the prices and cost. If you search hard enough, you will find many economical options.

Shelves:

Another simple way of decorating the wall is to place wooden, metal, or glass shelves on walls. Once in place, you can put books, plants, candles, or any other decoration piece on these shelves. Shelves are available in many different designs, and the best part is, you can easily change the look and feel of your room later on, by changing the objects on these shelves.
